Large appliance recycling (refrigerators or freezers)

You will receive a $50 rebate for each working refrigerator or freezer recycled. Schedule a free pickup and we’ll haul it away to be responsibly recycled. In-unit pickup or curbside pickup are both available. 

Larger, commercial appliances (>30 cubic feet) do not qualify. See size requirements below.
 

Schedule a Large Appliance Pickup

 

Eligibility

 
  • You may recycle multiple qualifying units at once (any combination of refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers or room A/Cs).
  • You must have an active electric account with PPL Electric Utilities at the address where you would like the appliance pickup up. 
  • The refrigerator or freezer must be between 10 and 30 cubic feet in size, clean, empty and defrosted.
  • Side-by-side refrigerators are considered one appliance and eligible for one $50 rebate.

Small appliance recycling (dehumidifiers or room A/Cs)

You will receive a $10 rebate for each working dehumidifier or room A/C when you recycle two or more units. Schedule a free pickup and we’ll haul them away to be responsibly recycled. In-unit pickup or curbside pickup are both available.

Eligibility

 
  • You must have an active electric account with PPL Electric Utilities at the address where you would like the appliance pickup up. 
  • For a pickup that includes a small unit, two or more appliances are required (the second appliance may be a dehumidifier, room A/C, refrigerator or freezer) 
  • If you'd like to recycle a single dehumidifier or room A/C, register for one of our small appliance recycling events.

 

Is my large appliance the correct size to recycle?

Determine if your old refrigerator or freezer is eligible for our recycling program. Your unit must be in working condition and be between 10 and 30 cubic feet in size.
